About A.J. Services

Highway 72 runs east out of Athens with cotton on both shoulders and heat already shimmering off the asphalt by ten in the morning. A.J. Services keeps the yards along and behind that corridor, mowing, string trimming, edging the walks and clearing the clippings before the afternoon storm stacks up. North Alabama summer asks a great deal of a lawn and rather more of the people cutting it, and the answer is to start early and finish right. There's a pleasure in a yard that looks handled: blades leaning one way, driveway blown bare, nothing left to argue with. Come fall the leaves let go all at once, and the work turns to gathering them up.
