On the gravel roads outside Soldotna proper, where cleared timber lots and old log landings still mark the ground from past logging work, snow piles deep and heavy against equipment yards and the driveways that serve them. Skidder Done clears those larger gravel lots and access roads, working ground that takes a different pass than a paved residential driveway, pushing snow off uneven cleared ground and around stacked equipment without burying it. Driveways for the homes built along these outer roads get plowed with the same equipment, snow banked back far enough that the next storm has somewhere to go. Ice on the gravel shoulders gets broken up where meltwater has run and refrozen overnight. Out here, the tree line stands back further from the road, and the work is measured in acres of open ground rather than single driveways.
