About New-Life Services

East of Soldotna, the ground still carries the marks of past wildfire and beetle-killed spruce, but young birch and fireweed have filled in fast beneath the standing snags, and it's across those regrown lots that snow falls differently, catching thin on new growth and deep in the open patches where the old canopy never grew back. New-Life Services clears driveways and walkways on those properties, working around saplings and old snags where a plow has to thread carefully rather than push a straight line. Ice that forms where meltwater pools in the low ground between new growth and old gets broken and sanded for safe footing. Parking areas near the neighborhood's newer builds, put up in the cleared ground since the burn, get scraped down to pavement each visit. Snowmachine tracks and fresh plow lines cross the same regrown ground by midwinter, one of the few signs marking where the old burn ends and the new growth begins.
