On the mornings a cruise ship is due into Seward, the streets between the highway and the dock need to be clear before the town wakes up to meet it, and that tight window is where Snow Flyers does its work. Trucks move fast along the flat grid near the harbor and up the first rise of the Seward Highway, plowing driveways and lots before delivery trucks and shuttle vans start their runs down to the waterfront. Walkways along the main routes into town get shoveled and sanded so the morning's foot traffic doesn't slip on packed snow left over from the night. Once the flat routes are open, the crew works back through residential side streets on higher ground, clearing driveways at a steadier pace while the harbor below fills with the day's first foot traffic. The whole town is moving again well before the ship's lines are tied off.
