The road to Lowell Point runs narrow along the cliffs above Resurrection Bay and then simply ends, leaving a scatter of homes and cabins tucked between steep spruce slopes and the water. Seward Chimney and Tree keeps the lawns at this edge of the bay, cutting grass and squaring up yards that have been won from forest and rock. Mornings here can be still and pewter-gray, with sea otters floating on their backs just offshore and the tide sliding back across the beach. A cleared, even lawn in a place this steep and untamed feels like an open window, letting light off the bay reach right up to the door. The service area is as small as it is lovely: one point of land, kept tidy.
