About Get Plowed AK

Down toward the mudflats of Knik Arm, the tide swings enormous and fast, and the flat land just above it holds onto snow in long, even drifts that Get Plowed AK works block by block along the back roads. Birch stands and old homestead fence lines mark out driveways cut wide enough for a tractor more than a plow truck, and running a blade down them means respecting fence posts as much as the snowbank. The Arm's tide flats stay a strange, muddy gray even under a foot of snow on the bluff above them, a reminder that this ground floods as much as it freezes. Weather moving in off Cook Inlet through the Arm hits Knik a little differently than it hits Wasilla just up the road, often colder and drier by the time it's crossed the flats. Plowing a route out here, homestead to homestead, keeps this quieter corner of the valley moving the same as anywhere busier.
