Ak Land & Lawn

About Ak Land & Lawn

The valley wakes early. North of Knik the old Matanuska ground runs out flat toward the mountains, silt the glaciers left behind and the summers have been coaxing into green ever since. Ak Land & Lawn works that same soil at house scale — mowing, string trimming, edging the walks, and raking a yard back open again. There is a kind of farming in a lawn: learning how fast it comes on in July, when to take it down, how low is too low for ground that freezes deep. By the time the coffee has gone cold, a yard can go from shaggy to squared, and the day still has fifteen hours left in it.
