K-Beach Road runs out toward the bluff above Cook Inlet, where on a clear winter day the volcanoes across the water, Redoubt and Iliamna, stand out sharp and white against a pale sky, and KBeach Plowing works the driveways and lots strung along that whole run. Snow out here comes with wind that has nothing to slow it down once it's crossed the inlet, so a drift that forms overnight can bury a driveway entrance in a way that a calmer night wouldn't. The bluff itself keeps eroding, so the road crews and the plows both learn to respect where the edge really is under a fresh few inches of snow. Clearing a place out here often means finishing just as the light catches the mountains across the water, the volcanoes glowing for a few minutes before the gray comes back in. It's simple work, done early, so the road out to the beach and back is open before anyone needs it.
