About Curbs Eye View

Stand at the curb on a downtown Juneau evening and a yard tells you everything — where the mower turned, where the edge went soft, what got skipped. That curbside read is the whole point here: mowing, trimming, edging and cleanup that make a small lot above Gold Creek look cared for from the sidewalk. Downtown gives you almost no flat ground, wedged as it is between the channel below and Mount Roberts standing straight up behind the rooflines, so every strip of grass counts twice. The work climbs the narrow terraces and switchback driveways of the hillside, then crosses to Douglas and out to the Mendenhall Valley. What lasts is one clean line where lawn meets pavement, still holding in the drizzle.
