About Alaska Hardy Gardens & Landscaping

Breakup comes late to Diamond Ridge, and gardeners up there learn patience the hard way — snow lingering in the shadowed beds while the slope below has already gone green down to Kachemak Bay. Alaska Hardy Gardens & Landscaping starts its year in that thaw, cutting back winter-worn perennials, opening beds, shaping borders and getting lawns mowed and trimmed once the ground firms. Everything planted in Homer has to earn its keep against wind, salt air and a growing season that runs bright but brief. When it works, it is a joy: a tended bed under the long June light with the ice fields across the water still holding their blue. The result is a yard that looks deliberate from the road and welcoming from the porch.
