About Denali Grass Co.

Summer in Healy is short and blazing bright, a brief run of weeks when the sun barely dips behind the ridges and everything green grows as if it can hear the clock running. Denali Grass Co. keeps pace with that rush, cutting and trimming lawns in the Nenana River valley while the light lingers deep into the night. Grass here lives a hard, fast life, waking from thawed ground and fading again by September, and it deserves a cut that shows it off. A trimmed lawn in Healy looks out on big country: gravel bars along the river, spruce climbing the slopes, the highway running south toward the park. It is an island of order in a very wild valley, and that is exactly its charm.
