About Groundhogs LLC

A lot of Fairbanks driveways are gravel, not pavement, which means a blade set too low tears up the yard underneath and one set too high leaves a slick crust nobody wants to walk on. Groundhogs works those gravel drives and the packed-dirt lanes out past the university's West Ridge with that difference in mind, clearing down to a firm base without gouging the surface below. The crew also handles the odd job of managing the waist-high piles a season of plowing leaves at the end of every driveway, hauling them back before they block sightlines onto the road. Come March, when the melt starts turning packed snow to standing water overnight, the same crew is out cutting drainage paths so a driveway doesn't turn into its own small pond. It's ground-level work, literally, in a town where what's under the snow matters as much as what's on top of it.
