Polar lawns and plowing

About Polar lawns and plowing

April in Badger is a rumor of green. The sun is suddenly up for fourteen hours, the drifts sag and shrink along the driveways, and everybody starts studying their yard for the first hint of color. Polar lawns and plowing is studying too, and once the ground firms the mowers come out — cutting, trimming, edging, hauling off the debris a hard winter always leaves behind. From that first pass until freeze-up, the lawns stay on a schedule. After the ice fog and the long dark, an even stretch of cut grass feels like something earned.
