The first real snow day of the year in the neighborhoods around Kincaid Park usually means kids out front building something lopsided and three feet tall before the plow even gets down the block, and Snowman Snowplowing has learned to work its weekend routes around exactly that. The driveways here back up to ski trails and greenbelt rather than open road, so a lot of the snow pushed off a driveway becomes the base of whatever gets built on the boulevard strip by afternoon. Weekday mornings run earlier and quieter, cleared well before school buses start their loop past the park entrance. Saturday storms are a different pace entirely, plows working around sleds left in driveways and half-built forts at the curb. The whole block tends to treat a big snowfall as much an occasion as an inconvenience, and the plowing schedule leaves room for that.
